I hope that you are enjoying your summer, with vacation’s, BBQ’s and warm weather. There are still plenty of things left to do, so enjoy what’s left of the time off
The Department is getting ready for the new 2017-2018 administration year. We have lots of things in the works.
The Department meetings will be held at Post 346, Neptune, and I thank Neptune Post 346 for their hospitality. The Department Directory and Prayer book has been mailed out. The membership cards are out, and hopefully we have started collecting dues.
We have the honor and pleasure of entertaining our new National President Diane Duscheck from the state of Wisconsin at our Birthday Lunch held on December 2, 2017. I hope that you all will attend and show her what a great Department we have here in New Jersey.
Another great project we have, is that we have started our new “Leadership Classes”. There are 5 classes scheduled. July 16 had 18 people attend, August 6th we had 32 members attend as of this writing we have 54 attending August 27th class. September 24 there are 19 scheduled and September 30th there is 7 scheduled. If you plan on attending, please send in your reservation with a check payable to ALA Dept. of NJ. DON’T wait till the last minute.
We will also be offering the opportunity to review your constitution and Bylaws at a gathering in Neptune. Date is still to be determined, hopefully in October. We are hopeful that buy the end of this year, all units will have their updated governing documents completed and into department.
Last but not least… We have a new WEB SITE. Same web address www.alanj.org. Please check it out. It is user friendly. Download your forms right from the site. As we get closer to the meeting and the beginning of what I hope to be a great year, there will be more documents on there for your review. When I get the plan of actions and committee forms I will get them on there as soon as I can. Please check it out.
So for now, I will end it here. We will update this by year end.
Thank you all for your support, your hard work and your dedication to the Department of New Jersey.
